Ali Velshi was born in Nairobi, Kenya on 29 October 1969. He received his primary education from the ‘Northern Secondary School’ located in Toronto, Canada and graduated from ‘Queen’s University’, Ontario with a degree in religious studies.
He started his career as a journalist with the ‘CFTO’ channel in Toronto. In 2001, he moved to the US and joined the ‘CNNfn’ network as a business correspondent.
